Use the LMG Handguard

Recommended Posts

I've heard rumors of people being told they can hold the LMG/Mark 2 by the barrel instead of the handguard if they have 'special gloves'.

Stop that shit, seriously. The handguard/hold thing is there for a fucking reason, so you don't burn your hand.

Apparently a National Guard Veteran has already said that you shouldn't hold the LMG by the barrel when firing. My dad, who is a Marine veteran of Operation Desert Storm had this to say, "That's retarded."

Listen, I don't care if you wanna be a special snowflake, cause doing this and getting your hands burnt turns you into that. Stop doing it. You are causing problems for everyone if you do that.

You do it on a drop and boom, medic needs to tend to you and you aren't going to be firing your gun with your flesh being seared off. That removes one LMG and Medic from the picture, when both could be doing their actual jobs (in the Medics case, worrying about people being actually injured).

Anyways, I see/hear anyone doing this, you are being kicked out of the Weapon Specialists.

I know Randy and Jun said its ok, but it really isn't. You should take the word of two veterans over the word of someone who is about to go into the army and someone who I doubt has any military experience.

TL;DR

STOP FIRING THE LMG WHILE HOLDING THE BARREL, HOLD IT LIKE A NORMAL FUCKING SOLDIER WOULD

P.S. If you think burning your hands will make you cool, you are mistaken. People will think you are retarded when they find out how you did it.

I recommend that you look into the actually RP that happened for the injuries. The two recorded injuries are justifiable. The first may have been over the top but if properly ask would make sense. Aka a civilized conversation not the blame game or the I know more than you game. The second injury the gunner said he threw the barrel at the enemy. That would be the doing of himself.   On the topic of the person saying the stuff (not naming person for the sake of them). Instead of going around and complaining informal, they should write a formal complaint about the issue. They have been told by an XA to drop it. The second injury knew nothing of the first incident. Can people not just go with the RP anymore or are you trying to make this a realistic military sim? I am open to civilized discussion. I will not deal with the kid crap or the teenage drama.

P.S. Also several admins were involved already on the topic. Instead of causing more issues lets talk it out like adults.

Okay, I guess I'll say it now.

Everyone is to drop the whole 'hand guard issue.

I'm beyond sick of seeing the same hand full of people argue and complain about such a small issue. It's actually a bit sad.

I'm beyond sick of getting 3 different messages a day about this small issue when I'm trying to enjoy my time away from the server.

Locking this thread. If you people want to keep barking at each other, do it in steam messages.
