Composers

I find the best composers generally to be Slavic, at least certainly the Romantic ones.

Anyone disagree?

Yes this is the second time I've made a similar thread but Cronk and Grimm are gone so maybe it won't be derailed.

I mean, Anthony Hopkins is a pretty solid composer.

So is Bobby Prince.

i'm actually curious

is this a meme thread

it comes off as extremely pretentious and then this is posted, but it could also be a mix of "not my taste" and a misunderstanding

I see your ghetto S.T.A.L.K.E.R "Grab a toz, shoot some nobs" and raise you someone who genuinely probably is one of the better composers of this generation, Klayton:

Rivaled by Blue Stahli:

okay i said only modern composers are good but every video in this thread made me change my mind

i like chopin a lot

Me too, but to me it's less thought provoking and more just something to enjoy mindlessly, which has it's place for sure. In a technical sense I'd say a lot of Chopin is more impressive than a lot of say Shostakovitch (who is my favourite).

Blue Stahli and Klayton both make thought provoking music, as well as "Put on in the background to drown out your parents third divorce" music. For example, one popular song by Blue Stahli points at the destructive tendencies of the pornographic industry, specifically how it can be corrupting and dangerous for people to watch but yet people do because of their urges, lust or curiosity.

Do you think his music would have been better or worse had it not been for Soviet oppression?
