  1. [A small excerpt from ,Federation Today!' as the Admiral of the Sixth Fleet is not paying the full subscription price monthly...]

A hypothesis by Prof. Dr. Dr. Henry Chambers, Astronomy, Astrology and Ecological Studies, Clemmerson University, Zegama Beach.

With the Earth finding an early demise, we have been offered a great chance at a new beginning. It has been shown before, again and again that nothing stands in humanity's way. Earth was already considered to be doomed after the great war. The Disorders did not go lightly on Earth, destroying not only the vast surface but also minimizing arable land. Project Schweitzer proved that this could not stop humanity however. Restoring Earth to almost what it was before and living in a status quo ever since then, it is my theory that Earth could become again the 'blue' (and green) planet. The status quo was good enough for humans to live on Earth, but it was not good enough from an ecological view. Earth was a habitable world, but not a hospitable one.

We have seen it work on Zegama Beach, an attack so devastating it struck our all hearts. Zegama Beach, almost destroyed in the First Bug War, is now a lot more than a place to visit for holidays occasionally: it is a fully fledged, sprawling colony doing their part to the Federation. It has emerged from the brink of death and is now a 'star' amongst the colonies.

It's unclear to me why this should not happen to Terra aswell. The Progenitors have laid waste to Earth, sure, but humanity needs their crown jewels back. Humanity needs a symbol, and it cannot be Iskander. Iskander is a farming colony, a workers planet, it is not and cannot be the seat of government. The motto of the Federation has almost always been "Service Guarantees Citizenship" - not "Lay down your hoes and vote".

In order for Terra to become a green and blue planet once again, I suggest we utilize what we have been given by the Progenitors. While Earth is currently almost uninhabited, we should, unlike earlier attempts such as during the Disorders, where civilization has kept on sprawling, concentrate the population to key urban areas and locations. This allows humanity on Earth to rise once again and the planetary surface gets a breather. The lungs of the Earth need to be restored.

    6kZTG1l.png

Naturally, Earth's capital should now be Aberdeen, or, depending on the state of the region, Glasgow. It was never clear to me why of all places it has been moved to Geneva.

    • One major colony could lie in Paris. Almost central european, well climatized, surrounded by arable land and an acceptable suggestion for former europeans. It is the ideal main-stay for the people.

    • Astrakhan would be the second european colony for the easterners. It has an ideal location by the former Caspian Sea, well climatized, arable land.

    • Lagos should be one of the places targetted in Africa; it is by the sea and offers solid living conditions.

Benghazi or Juba could offer secondary targets.

    • The former Northern American states all offer equal opportunities, but the east coast is to be preferred due to proximity to the other main targets. New Haven might be a climately sound choice.

    • Southern American target would be Paramaribo or Panama City. Anything southward of that is simply unworkable due to nuclear- or progenitorwastelands.

    • Asia is a difficult target because vast landstrips were still in bad order from the Disorders; what has not been destroyed then has been (naturally) destroyed by the Progenitors. Tianjin and Darwin could be two asiatic locations.

:( i find feats more rewarding when there's some adversity to overcome, even if it means acknowledging you're tired/hot/cold/sick/chronic lumbago through a /me

most people play characters that portray themselves

maybe if we can get some people to cease their headassery we might get somewhere. we used to have people who understood the limits of the human body, even a human body conditioned by military rigors has its limits, and its part of your role as a trooper to understand that consequences will follow if you push yourself too far. it's part of a bigger problem concerning a lack of roleplay around fatigue. we sprint non-stop, we climb up sheer rockfaces, we zip zop all over a map and even when fatigue conditions are /ev'd, ie "The troopers would feel tired after marching for 5 hours straight" there is still a reluctance to acknowledge "wow i'm a human being and i get tired" because it might be inconvenient for the player

edit: worse yet, some think that BECAUSE they are military this means that they don't get to roleplay many of these conditions at all, which isn't the case

well u seem to be the only one having fun doing /me pants during missions

    Soo.... nobody?

  8. With the ever lasting threats of war and the moving frontlines, the FJL has to remain flexible. Some places are simply not safe enough anymore for civilians and citizens to enjoy a jumpball match at. Even though arenas are heavily guarded by Mobile Infantry elements, revenue from certain planets has dropped. Additionally, Earth simply is humanity's home and deserves a Jumpball team, which is why league officials have decided to relocate a jumpball team to Earth.

As a thank you for your service, all Federal Service Members originating from Earth are allowed to cast their vote on what the new franchise should be called!

Winning teams from the Wildcard Round will advance to the Conference Semifinals, where they will meet Zegama Beach or Sanctuary (AC) and Wiaria or Hathor (NC) respectively. From there, you will advance to the Conference finals and then you shall play for galactic glory.
