What is your backstory that would make you believe that your character was a Psychic? OR Why would the Federation believe you were a Psychic as a child?:
Emmett's life started as all others, being conceived by a pair of consenting parents. He was born on Terra in a residential area of California called ‘Placerville’. His family was well-off, allowing the young boy to pursue whatever had interested him; which happened to be rooted in a local club soccer team. Being that his father’s business adventures in law had prospered, Shane was exposed to some of the best medical care the Federation offered. Near his middle-school age, Shane was beginning to undergo psychic aptitude evaluations. It wasn’t long before they begun to pick up on the general signs of ability. The testing continued through his middle-school, and later high-school careers. He was soon confirmed for the ability and begone to undergo basic training. This, however, didn’t last long as he soon arrived at the age of enlistment. He enlisted in the mobile infantry, and was sent off to boot camp and his duty assignment.

**Rct. Shane L. Emmett braced up against the nearly destroyed brick wall, shuffling over the bags of discarded trash covering the war torn city. He jerked as bullets impacted the surrounding area. The compact layout of the concrete jungle the mobile infantrymen had found themselves in prevented them from being able to locate the machine-gun nest plaguing their advance.
**Rct. Shane L. Emmett slid down the wall to a crouch, closing his eyes and letting out a slow breath as if centering himself; he placed a hand up against the wall to keep himself from falling to the waste covered sidewalk below.

**Rct. Shane L. Emmett cringed as he tried his best to navigate through the degrading buildings around. He suddenly stood up, depressing the transmit button on his radio; “Sergeant, there’s an alley to the Southwest. Follow it till the intersection, the machine-gun emplacement is in the third-story window of the building.” He released the button, grabbing his rifle up and began making his way off of the wall he was using as cover to regroup with the rest of his squad.
