  3. The marauders info thread literally has a power armor frame picture. Edit; Why doesn't small arms pierce modern day armored fighting vehicles? It's bulletproof. You need heavy weapons. The marauders thread explicitly says small arms will not work and you need anti material rifles or rockets. Armour :While the Aegis Mark II suit is well-armoured, and can virtually brush off light-to-medium fire, heavy weapons (i.e emplacements or anti-material) will dent and eventually pierce the suit's plates with sustained fire. Likewise, the Aegis Mark II can survive light anti-personnel grenades and mines, but heavier anti-armour weapons can and will damage it.
  4. All in all I think the past 2-3 weeks have been the best the marauders have been since their inception. Any old players are welcome to try and change my mind. Not a single admin I've helped, or has helped me has expressed any form of concern about their hp levels or armor. If anything it serves as a gameplay gimmick to keep players from being run over by the 'bog swam' in a mission with lots of arachnids. If they do something stupid, me, Tony, Orwell and plenty of other admins are not afraid to event them getting injured - and I myself am not afraid to outright kill them for doing something ludicrous. It's taken them 2 years to finally have a place in the server and now we're trying to change that. I think it's best to leave it alone in this case and keep things the same way they've been going. As both a player in the marauders and one of the most frequent mission runners in the past month, that's my two cents from my own first hand experience.

  6. Courtesy of Lieutenant Vickers, I have been given a couple of creative ways to discipline troopers without the need to smack around, break bones or otherwise render members of the platoon combat ineffective. I encourage all non-commissioned officers to include these, or come up with their own machinations in lieu of beating up troopers who have done wrong. The majority care more about their image than their physical well-being. It will go further in the long run. At that, these are not exclusive and you're welcome to punish them as you see fit so long as it adheres to Federal law. - SSgt. Q. Caffrey George the Discipline Gnome Fuckups must carry the gnome at all times. Any thoughts or questions must be phrased as ‘George and I think…’ ‘George and I would like to know…’ etc. You are welcome to name your own items. Ex: Rob the shoe. Vincent the turtle. Comrade in Arms If the fuckup’s fuckup is centered around an object, that object must be accounted for as a member of the Mobile Infantry. They will require a military ID (crayon acceptable) and short biography which the fuckup must be able to recite on command. Day Job If the fuckup must prepare to take on another day job, their preparation for this new job must begin while in service. They may be preparing to be a dancer, or a garbage man, or a nurse. They will be made to practice this job around the ship. Example, a fireman might be given a ‘cat’ they have to rescue from various situations. A dancer might be made to practice their dancing before training sessions, while other members of the enlisted score them. A fast food worker might be required to add ‘would you like fries with that?’ at the end of every conversation with a superior. Patriotic Doorways The fuckup must reassert their devotion to the Federation by shouting ‘MI ALL DAY EVERY DAY’ before going through any and all doorways. Ambulance Failure to respect medical’s contribution to the MI will require that the fuckup engages in all travel in the guise of an ambulance, shouting ‘NEE NAW NEE NAW.’ Tank Failure to respect engineering’s contribution to the MI will require that the fuckup engages in all travel in the guise of a battle tank, making engine noises wherever they go, and stopping whenever they have to turn. If only turning their head, they may instead make a whirring noise to simulate a turret turning. Correct Terminology If the fuckup is unable to maintain correct use of standard MI terminology, all instances of ‘yes’ or similar will be replaced with ‘giddy up’, and all instances of ‘no’ or similar will be replaced with ‘whoa there lass’. Mobile Noticeboard If a fuckup’s issue is one of communication, they will learn the value of proper communication by wearing on their person a corkboard hung around their neck, which troopers are encouraged to stick notes to. The fuckup may in this way be used as a messenger for NCOs to pass along communiques.

  9. 112th MOBILE INFANTRY (WASHINGTON D.C, [CIRCA DECEMBER, 2298]) At 0200 hours December 9th 2298, a crushing blow was landed against the Progenitor forces still occupying Earth. The 77th, the 21st and the 112th Mobile Infantry battalions in tangent with combatants from the 71st Air Cavalry Division set out to perform the impossible task of fighting back a Progenitor army nearly three times their size in the interest of defending the National Mall from hostile counterattack following the destruction of an aerial gun platform. Federation forces spearheaded by the 112th Mobile Infantry led an attack against the fortified city of Arlington, where they destroyed a Progenitor shield relay site, which proved vital to the operation. With an enemy counteroffensive led against the UCF's staging ground located in the centre of Washington D.C, the aforementioned soldiers fought bravely in order to reclaim the territories which were lost in the push. With gruelling odds and limited support, the forces on the ground held out long enough for support to arrive, before proceeding onward to raise the Federal flag high above the city atop the Washington Monument, claiming the city rightly for the Federation. Acting Commander of the operation Major Ingram Porter, working out of the forward headquarters gave a speech upon returning to the CV-748 'Euphrates'; "My fellow Citizens. Today we fought, bled and for some - died for the soil which was reclaimed for humanity. This will serve as naught but a foundation for our operations to reclaim our world, but it is a foundation upon which we will build our cities, our statues and the monuments of our heroes; Our fallen brothers and sisters. I served in the original attack, I fought with courage in my heart when the late Sky Marshall John Hudson promised we would retake our world. It is in his memory that we fought today. It is in his memory that we raised our flag above one of our beloved cities. It is in his memory that we will kill every single alien with the gall to walk our lands of yore. I promise you friends, brothers, men and women of the Federation! It is the late Winston Churchill's words which shall guide us to victory in this quest; We shall go on to the end. We shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old. We will fight until the end. Some will die so that others may live. Such is our duty. Such is our obligation when it comes to defending the bodied politic of our great empire. We will fight, we will win; And if you should find yourself alone, riding in the green fields with the sun on your face and stalks of wheat between your fingertips. Do not be troubled, dear friends; You will know peace, for you are in Elysium." WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE!?

  15. BARACHIAN NINE CIVIL UNREST GENERAL MONTGOMERY DECLARES MARTIAL LAW PLANETARY GARRISON AUTHORIZED LETHAL FORCE BLOCKADE LIFT TALKS MOBILE INFANTRY DEPLOYED UNDER STRICT ROE COLONIST, FRIEND OR FOE!? Chaos remains in the ruins of Moran as the Arachnid spread is contained, yet not eradicated. General Montgomery talks of lifting the quarantine, yet restricts supporting forces to strict rules of engagement regarding protestors and rioters, as well as the restriction of imported goods. Sources claim that what began as peaceful protests have turned into massive public outrage. Violent confrontation with Mobile Infantry personnel has been reported, albeit remains unaccredited. FEDNET personnel have been denied landing clearance for reasons left unspecified by the Colonial Government. Eighty-Four-Hundred or more people remain within the ruined capital, more than half of which seek refuge from their own government. An official decree from the Department of Home Relations has been made public; "We will not allow lawlessness and savagery to claim the streets of our nation. My men are doing exactly what they need to in order to bring peace back to Moran, and soon, the rest of our colony. Fret not; Friends, Colleagues, Citizens and Civilians. Barachian-Nine will rise again. Once-more will it stand proud as a prosperous people. Report the suspicious activity of your neighbors. Report recklessness. Together, we will stand strong against this group of oligarchic rebels, and drive the Arachnids form our own little corner of the galaxy. We are the people. We will prosper; Together." Weaknesses: Pessimistic, Jaded, Reckless, Emotionally Unavailable, Bullheaded. STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES _______________________________________________________________________ + The Jack: Versatile and compatible with most styles of leadership, Logan is at least half way decent at most things that he does, be-it inside or outside of the suit. Comparing himself often to a multi-tool, Specialist MacNamara has a tendency to 'fit the bill' wherever he's placed, be-it as a point-man, a rear-guardsman or anywhere in between. - Big Man, Big Suit: Logan finds himself being the type of man with the personal philosophy mirroring that of the cores values of the Federation; One to believe that 'force breeds force', the Marauder holds himself to the ideology that 'any situation you can punch your way out of, is not a bad one'. He is no great tactician, he is no mastermind. He is a man with a really heavy suit, a really big gun, and a desire to obliterate 'bad guys'. + I've Been Here Before: Having been serving for nearly half of a decade, the general principalities of 'soldiering' have been instilled within him. MacNamara is no stranger to the hardships, as well as the good times that come with being a mobile infantryman. He has 'been there, done that' before and finds himself prepared to do it all over again. - One To Talk: Big man, big mouth. Logan has a tendency to speak his mind, for better or for worse. This is not to be confused with insubordination. Despite being short-viewed and idealistic, Logan knows his place. 20. Second-Wave Meteors Obliterate Moran, Igrasse and Bennet's Post. Barachian-Nine Calls For Federal Intervention. Governor Rona Jane MacCready Resigns. Control Bugs Invoke Quarantine. Ruins of Moran, capital of Barachian-Nine. Barachian-Nine pleads for Federal intervention following a blockade of the planet after control bugs have begun to infest the BCT-311 'Charles .S. Rutherford' during an effort to evacuate displaced personnel. A quarantine has been placed on all traffic coming on and off-world, causing public outcry as a result of Federation troops abstaining from deploying en-masse. Governor MacCready has accepted personal responsibility for the enactment, having resigned hours after the evacuation of the capital city of Moran. Footage taken from ARCHANGEL-04 and 02. Second-wave meteorites strike North and South hemispheres, obliterating the capital of Moran and the remaining chunk of the Northern populace. Fednet would like to take a moment to commemorate the loss of two journalists, as well as the denizens of the colony. Many flustered citizens were caught in the crossfire during an attempted evacuation. Hundreds of thousand are left dead, wounded estimates are still being calculated at this time. Barachian-Nine's government has officially been taken over by Brigadier General Leeroy Montgomery, a career officer serving as commander of the planetary garrison. Footage of Fednet reporter Loraine Simmons and cameraman Joseph Swede moments before losing contact. WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE!?
