  1. Character Creation Rules!

Due to the lacking of a proper sheet of rulings for players to create a character, we've seen an increase and simply always have seen certain players making a character that simply wouldn't make sense in the Mobile Infantry, or in a military in general. With that said, here's a simple listing of things that players cannot add to their characters.

    • Mental illnesses
      • Mental illnesses would simply not be allowable in any fashion of Federal military service. If you choose to go through with your character having such diseases, it would not be public knowledge and if you're caught it would result in IC consequences that most assuredly will remove your character from the unit.
    • Your character is not previous special forces
      • Your character was not apart of US Army Rangers, Russian Spetsnaz, Navy SEALs, Pathfinder, Pararescue, Neodog handler or any other special forces that you can think of. The reasoning for this is mostly due to Special Forces from the old world governments no longer exist and in order to be a member of Pathfinders, you must request permission from the XAs or be on a Pathfinder Operation. Neodog handlers will not be allowed.
    • Height and weight
      • Now here's the kicker, because this one kills me too as my throw away characters are mostly obese. However, characters need to have limitations in what size they can be. Height will be limited at 6'10" as this accounts for the natural evolution of humans getting taller, colonies having different gravitational levels, etc. Anything further would MORE than likely be a hazard to themselves and their unit.
      • Weight is a more touchy subject, I don't think a limit is necessary but definitely be smart in how you roleplay a character with weight issues.
    • Wealth
      • Look guys, I know that everyone wants to have a wealthy family. But not every single person in the Federation has bajillions of dollars. XAs now have to authorize this as well.
    • Criminal Background
      • Another thing, everyone wants their character to have a cool background. But it doesn't necessarily make sense for a criminal to be put into a regular infantry unit for punishment. Bear in mind, we're talking criminal in the sense of murderers, rapists or any felonous violent crimes. This is no longer allowed either.
    • High IQs
      • Although everyone has a choice in what service they go into, it's strange to see characters with genious level IQs. There's not going to be a prohibition on characters with said IQ levels, but a strong discouragement as if your character has such high intelligence-- they're more than likely going into Intelligence or Fleet, not the MI.

CURRENT characters with mental prohibitions will still be able to play on the server. However, any with mental illness will be doing so in secrecy and if caught will be handled as originally stated.

Admins are expected to follow through with these new rulings, warnings first and then handle it as you see fit from there.

  2. Alrighty folks. Good responses to the survey. Things cannot get done unless we're made aware and this surely made us aware of where we should pick up the slack in certain areas and they will be addressed in todays admin meeting.

I'd like to thank all of you for participating in the survey and being honest with us.

  3. All of this is exactly what I'm looking for and aiming for.

The list of prerequisites is enough imo to give those who choose it as their constituency the idea of what they're meant to be representing and the difficulties in winning voters over.

Once we get the list of colonies fully up and going (feel free to make a thread, whoever starts first, and we can all begin to edit it accordingly) we will start the process of a new election. In the meantime, FEDNET posts to stir the shit of the current National governments failings would be ideal.

is this our primary source to pull from, or should we also be using movie and book lore?

Movie and books can be used as secondary so long as it doesn't support the utopia ideology. We all know it would never work, especially in a society like the Federation

  5. I'm writing this on my phone, so forgive the lack of fanciness in terms of structure.

First things first, in light of recent events involving players finally coming out of the shadows and raising complaints against the admin team, we've decided that it's time to do another survey of what direction the playerbase believes the community is heading, especially with the new script and map. In terms of quite a bit of things, I believe we're getting better. It may be slow in some areas and even slower in others, but most assuredly we're reaching a good state in my opinion. I'd also like to stress that the community give time to our script developer, kipper, to address and fix the issues of the script. He's currently in a state of moving and we're expecting him back in the next week or hopefully, sooner.

Before linking the survey, I'd like to stress and announce two more things. The first being this. To the players who raise complaints on the server, if it is not something that can be immediately handled by an administrator or is a complaint that stems wide debate, take it to steam or the forums. The server is no place for debate and the administration should and will quickly shut it down. The server is the part of this community that's meant for enjoyment, the forum is the part that's for handling matters of urgency. With that said, we rely on you, the playerbase, to inform us of what you'd like to see done and whether a part of the administration staff is maliciously targetting you. If you sit there in fear of the wicked few then you will continue to be in a constant state of such and let them rule over you. If such a thing happens you need to IMMEDIATELY come to an XA so it can be handled, we are always available through steam or forums. This goes for complaints of any kind.

Last but hopefully not least, I've been working on the Federal Council v2 behind the scenes with a selective crew. Sadly, this crew has showed no enthusiasm and little effort so I'm extending the invitation to anyone who is interested in bringing a political element that determines certain things for the server to the community, PM me.

    And finally, the survey link:

Well yeah, it's all about priorities. An NCO+ is much more likely to get an implant rather than a cannon fodder Private, at best the Private gets a medical discharge ergo a PK.

It's all left to common sense but you know very well that doesn't always apply to people, trust must always be taken with a pinch of salt and checked.

Yeah that's why the thread is there chief, says it all.

It all revolves around how the administration team handles it because ultimately they are the ones who authorize them.

Negatory. MI officers do and the server owner. This post also addresses those who are using BTs as a "lolcoolrobotarm!" Also I think the playerbase deserves to know they're not going to be thrown around anymore considering it's a possible pk.

  9. Prosthetics, otherwise known as BioTechs more commonly, are not what most people perceive them to be. They are not strength enhancing mega arms that allow you to crush things without any exertion of strength. BioTechs are literally just regular limbs that are made of metal to replace your other arm that was lost in action.

BioTechs are canonically expensive and are used on the more capable of Federal Service members. Recently, it seems that people have thrown BioTechs around willy-nilly and this should hopefully change that course due to the fact that most people abuse it as a way to look cool and say they have super strength. This changes now.

we'd be winning had it not been for 10000000 uprisings on 1000000 planets, all equipped better than the MI are

Aren't you part of the lore team that's supposed to stop that?
