Hello! If you are reading this, you are the recipient of a military grade biotech limb prosthesis.
This short article is to assist you in getting to know your new limb, what it can do and what it cannot do. If you have further questions, please see your Platoon’s biotech specialist in your local medical bay.
So, you have unfortunately lost a limb; your new prosthesis will take some getting used to. You are likely to experience pain around the surgical site immediately after surgery, and it may take some sessions of physical therapy to get used to your new limb.
Your new prosthesis is made of a high grade magnesium-alloy, it should weigh no more than your real limb did. Your surgeon will have matched your biotech prosthesis to your body shape and size, if you find your new prosthesis to be awkward due to sizing issues, please make a visit to your medical bay.
Your new prosthesis is not stronger than the appendage it replaced. It will not grant you any added strength or endurance. If you are given a biotech eye prosthesis, your vision in that specific eye will be 20/20 (standard visual acuity), you will not gain super-human vision. If you find yourself in a close quarters combat situation, your opponent may feel as if they hit solid object if they come into contact with your prosthesis, however you should not use the prosthesis as a weapon, as you will likely damage it beyond repair.
Your new prosthesis has been attached to your body’s nervous system. You should feel external sources of stimulation, touch, heat, cold, ect. If your biotech prosthesis feels itchy, please see a medic.
Your new prosthesis cannot be tampered with. This means you cannot add things to or remove things from your prosthesis. If you caught are tampering with your prosthesis, you will be charged with tampering with Federation property and punished appropriately.
You may however, depending on the generosity of your Commanding Officer, personalize your biotech prosthesis with paint and decals. Please speak to your local medical staff to ensure the personalizing of your prosthesis is within your Platoon’s set guidelines.
