Abstract - While the Federation has an extensive sensor network and ability to combat Arachnids in space the most common interaction is either direct confrontation in a defensive posture or offensive fronts. The proposed Arachnid Early Warning System (AEWS) seeks to bolster the defense of the Federal colonies and space borne endeavors in a preventative manner. Due to the fact that most engagements between Arachnid and Human forces either end up resulting in a Human offensive on a bug infested world or the defense of a Human holding. Rarely, it seems, that the fight is taken to space where Humanity should have an undeniable edge. Our mastery of combat in the void will either be confirmed or subverted by the proposed research and development project, leading to possible boons in naval combat and strategy. The proposed system will identify and exploit weaknesses in the Arachnid space strategy, either through detection and interception or direct confrontation.
In short, this project sets out to deeply and thoroughly examine Arachnid space capabilities and to find counter strategies that reduce the risk of human loss of life. Whether this be through early warning, preventative measures to avoid Arachnid incursions, or so on is to be determined.

Lowell is an...interesting one. He’s nice enough once you get past the rough exterior and for some reason his sarcastic and morbid humour doesn’t rub me as odd as it normally would. I’m glad that he’s opening up to me, it’s comforting having someone that you can trust and that gives it to you straight. I just hope that I can help him to, even if he says he doesn’t need it.

My pool buddy and all around friend...even though we’ve only really played pool once. Regardless, I never feel like time spent with Naomi is time wasted. He’s extremely energetic, emphasis on extreme. Not that it’s a bad thing, it brings out the little oddities that make him who he is which isn’t bad to say the least. He’s pretty much still a kid, but he honestly doesn’t deserve some of the crap he gets, especially considering what Holtz did. He’ll learn eventually. Hopefully he won't make my hair grey faster than it already is.

*Katrina appears to be sitting on the grass in a fenced in area, a field stretching out behind her until it slowly blends into the tree line. She is smiling down at a small fuzzy lump splayed half on the ground half in her lap. After brief moment, the camera focuses, the lump resolving into that of a small and very young foal. A ukulele is held in Katrina's hands as a small breeze flows over the grass and trees, she shoots a quick and carefree glance to the camera while brushing her fluttering hair behind her ear. She returns her gaze to the foal looking up at her and starts to strum the ukulele, beginning to hum shortly after...*
*As she slows to a stop the foal squirms, eliciting a soft chuckle. She places the ukulele to the side and reaches to scratch the baby animal, crooning as she makes faces. The video stops shortly after.*
