Probe Data Analysis ⦁ Arachnid presence is large on the planet with the estimated population being around 1,000 per square mile. Average hive population numbers are currently unknown. (Requires IC Recon by MI) ⦁ Arachnid presence focused on the continent in the southern hemisphere with additional hives recorded on the many islands branching to the east and north. ⦁ Atmosphere is non-breathable without assistance. High levels of CO2 and low levels of oxygen as well as other gases, methane, hydrogen etc. ⦁ Soil sample required to determine agricultural viability. ⦁ Presence of aquatic life and surface life. Both of which are probably killed for food by Arachnids. ⦁ Mass of planet is 1.19 x Earth. ⦁ 14,925 miles / 24,019 km radius ⦁ Length of day, 21 Hours. ⦁ Length of year, 4 years. ⦁ Weather conditions are unpredictable and usually extremes of what you would see on earth. Seasonal changes result in different weather patterns, tornado valley during spring and fall, extreme blizzards during winter, heavy rainfall hurricanes and tropical storms throughout during spring and fall as well. Will require preparation. Resources Apparent: ⦁ Metals; gold, tin, bauxite, flurospar, iron, etc… Very large deposits underneath landmasses. Even larger deposits recorded underneath sea levels. Major land deposits focused in the southern hemisphere. ⦁ Large bodies of non-potable water requiring treatment. ⦁ Large amounts of natural gases. Conclusion: ⦁ Subatai is a hazardous planet that requires assistance to breathe on. ⦁ Has a major Arachnid population that could grow rapidly if we introduce the Federation to the planet. ⦁ Has very large amounts of resources that the Federation could use, prime candidate for a substantial and prolonged mining operation. ⦁ Extreme seasonal weather conditions will require due consideration in construction of installations. ⦁ Supply routes to any installations will more than likely be restricted to a short window of time due to said weather patterns. History and Introduction Subatai is the fourth planet orbiting the red dwarf OM-14774. It was first discovered in 2023 along with the other planets in the system. It was not until 2298 when the United Citizen’s Federation finally entered orbit around the planet and launched a survey probe into the planet’s orbit to provide constant data. Thus enabling the Office of Astronomical Analysis to obtain enough information on the planet to decide on further actions in regards to exploration and exploitation of the planet’s natural resources. It also gave the Federation the very first glimpse into the planet after 200 years of no contact. 2. Economy The economy of Subatai is centered around the mining and exporting of the planet’s mineral deposits and natural resources to the Federation, with corporations fighting each other for the contracts. It is due to the presence of extremely large deposits of important resources used in all manner of productions within the Federation that Subatai has now become one of the most sought after locations for mining corporations, with civilians and citizens alike seeing it as a gold rush style event of epic proportion. Estimates from economists and corporate analysts say that Subatai is so rich in minerals and natural resources that mining operations could run without any interruption or delay for 5 years before a marked decrease would ever be noticed. 3. Colonies and Federation Installations At this time the Federation has no colonies or installations of any kind on Subatai. 4. Flora and Fauna Flora on Subatai is varied depending on geographical location just like any other planet. In the northern hemisphere are great tundra’s of permafrost, hot springs and shrubbery. As well as great forests of both trees and ice formations. The southern hemisphere is very different to the north however with the overall temperature being warmer and more humid. The overall environment on the southern continent is comparable to Terra’s rainforests, jungles with patches of arid dunes. Fauna consists mainly of aquatic life with some land based life forms in the form of small amphibians to insects and sea based mammals similar to seals or walrus’. 5. Arachnid Presence Orbital scans conducted by research probes launched from UCF-291 revealed the presence of Arachnids on the planet. Several identifying characteristics of Arachnid hives have also been recorded on the surface of the planet, with a majority of activity being focused on the southern hemisphere. The scale of the Arachnid presence on the planet is currently unknown, estimates range from several small hives to several progressed hives linked together through subterranean passages. 1 Link to comment
