INTERIOR CHIEF RESIGNS FROM CABINET
 

Viktor Wroclaw, the cabinet minister responsible for the interior, today resigned from

Sky Marshal Ortiz's cabinet, citing irreconcilable differences in his vision for the 

Federation's place in the future, in particular the treatment and defence of the outer

colonies.

 

Mr. Wroclaw, from a family of farmers from the outer colonies who served as a Colonel

within Games & Theory and who served as Chief of Interior for little under a year, made

the following statement outside of the Department for the Interior building in Iskander:

 

"Sky Marshal Ortiz has embarked us on a course that is fundamentally 

counter to the principles of this Federation, and I cannot in good conscience

continue to support her as she tears down the pillars of our society."

 

The Sky Marshal's office refused to comment except to thank Mr. Wroclaw for his

service and to state that his replacement would be announced later today.

ATTEMPT MADE ON SM ORTIZ'S LIFE IN ISKANDER

 

A terror cell believed to be linked to known separatists launched an attack on the Federation's temporary

capital last night, in a cowardly attempt to assassinate Sky Marshal Ortiz as she conducted commemorations

for the losses suffered by humanity during the Progenitor holocaust.

 

However within very short order the separatist-led insurrection was quashed thanks to the diligent and

decisive action of the federal armed services.

 

The attack which lasted little over two hours took place at the Capitol building; the terrorists were known to have

gotten their hands on explosives and high powered rifles. Unhelpfully, a stray round clipped a faulty gas pipe, causing

a significant gas explosion that inflicted significant damage on numerous buildings in and around Capitol Square. An

estimated £400mn worth of damage was inflicted during the count

The Sky Marshal, who was believed to be wounded in the incident but otherwise well, thanked the servicemen and

servicewomen of the 112th Mobile Infantry as well as the numerous other combat units that were involved, and

stated that she had ordered a review into how these criminals were able to mount an attack within the capital undetected.

TOP SECRET: INTELLIGENCE MATERIALS ATTAINED DURING 31/11/2298 ASSAULT ON CAPITAL, ISKANDER

 

The following assets were obtained on November 31st, 2298, within a concealed sewer pipe believed to be used by 

terrorists during the planning and execution of the attempt on the Sky Marshal's life in Virgil's Point, Iskander. It was

retrieved by one PFC Freeson, of the 112th Mobile Infantry. 

 

Exhibit A. Firearms

 

2x Morita Mk 1

The firearms were in pristine, factory condition, and lab analysis determined that they were (a) not counterfeit, (b) had

never been fired and (c) did not appear to have a federally mandated registration number, nor was there any evidence

that one had been scratched off.

 

1x Morita Mk 4

Similarly the Mk 4 was also in pristine factory condition and lab analysis concluded that the weapon was not counterfeit,

had not been fired and did not have the federally mandated registration number. More worrying still is that the Mk4 is a

highly classified, restricted, experimental firearm, not yet released for general use nor even generally acknowledged.

 

All three firearms were likely produced at the Morita Corporation's Neueville complex in Rohan.

 

 

Exhibit B. Currency (C£14,000)

 

Roughly £14,000 in Castian pounds was found parallel to the firearms mentioned in exhibit A. The bills are non-sequential,

but otherwise brand new, suggesting a complex conspiracy to launder funds prior to the execution of this event.
