Event suggestion thread

As we all roll for our colonies, events are bound to happen. At some point, we'll reach point X where our colonies have found a "rare gold mine" for the fifth time because there's only so much @Admyral Joe and @Argon can think of. So feel free to post stuff here.

• Disease outbreak. Roll again multiple times for severity - that means type and possible other factors.

Suggestions (possible roll values are underlined):This could range from stupid events such as people not vaccinating (which means it is a "home-grown" disease) against disease A leading to the population getting cysts which are transmitted by touch to abnormalities such as a traveller from place B carrying the fucking deathpox which is highly infective and transmitted via air.

 

Should it not be countered properly, can lead to contagion. Martial Law. Mobile Infantry involvement possible. Good for the server.

Possibility of zombie missions. (such as the one we just had on arcadia)

• Solar eclipse/(flare?)

Energy production stopped for a day/(a while). People think this is cool but solar energy drops to zero, having negative influence on your industry.

• Public punishment slip-up

A criminal in your colony was meant to be lashed infront of the Federal Building. For some reason, somehow, they managed to break free or disappeared/never appeared.

• Will of God

The Mormon Church makes a charity/food donation to the poor of your planet

[Silly goose]

• Arachnid Containment Failure

Containment of some arachnid research specimens has failed. The threat itself is minor, but public panic will be hard to manage.

 

• Demagogue

A famous political activist arrives and stirs up discontent about the Federation.

 

• Medicinal Crisis

Due to a clerical error, medicine needed for a minor but common ailment has run out.
