Personal Information

Family: Lethabo I. Engelbrecht (Father): Unknown Status. Lesedi Amahle Engelbrecht (Mother): Deceased. Vuur G. Engelbrecht. (Younger Brother): Alive, In Active Service as TAC Pilot within Federation Navy. Vegter L. Davenport (Maternal Grandfather): Deceased.

Backstory: Born in Cape Colony, a few years before the end of The First Bug War, Gabriel was named after the Archangel of the same name in the Christian Religion given his father's extensive relations with a local church. He preformed well in school throughout his life, despite his rather mysterious involvement around the city. Gabriel, at the age of 16 was suspected of numerous crimes throughout the city and country, all tied into a local gang within the city. However, no clear evidence could be found and he was let go and closely monitored. From there, he showed strong desires to join the Fleet as a TAC fighter, but after a meeting with a local "fortune-teller" (as the subject claims), he quickly pulled out of the idea and that of the military all together until the death of his Grandfather one year later. For unknown reasons, subject changed their last name to Davenport and showed a renewed desire for military service through the Mobile Infantry. These plans were cut short, following the Progenitor Invasion of Earth, where all records and methods of recording or documentation were destroyed or misplaced, leading to the rather blank report. Subject claims to have banded together with a few survivors and made a plan to move to the United Kingdom. Subject claims from there, they traveled and sailed all through Africa, Europe, and eventually reached their destination where they awaited relief. 4 years later, that relief came and no shorter than 2 months upon recovery, he joined the Mobile Infantry and was transferred to the First Company of the 112th Morita Battalion.

Characteristics: Easy-Going, Talkative, Sly, Quick Learner (Going from Training Footage), Friendly, Charismatic, and Mischievous.

Strengths & Weaknesses: Has a knack for fitting in with groups as long as time is provided. Has a "Good Head" on his shoulders and is responsive and disciplined in tough situations. Has a strange pain tolerance, making him somewhat more durable. Quite flexible and has a lot of street smarts and "roguish" attributes. His talkative nature can put himself at odds and his record for keeping comms clear when ordered to is very poor. Quite stubborn, refusing to submit to medical tests unless forced to or utterly necessary within his own eyes. Has a severe lack of experience in psychic dealings and when they occur, his usually fearless and easy going nature is replaced by panic and confusion. Holds himself to high, if utterly impossible degrees, often beating himself up if he fails to accomplish them which has lead to incidents before.

Other Information: The local gang he was rumored to have been affiliated was also rumored to have been lead by none other than his father. Bears many scars across his wrists and torso, usually deliberately covered up with clothing. Participated in his church and school's choir. Once attempted suicide at the age of 16 by hanging, reason unknown and stopped by his younger brother, who was 14 at the time. Subject admits to occasionally having further depressing or suicidal thoughts. Refuses to talk about his experiences during the Progenitor invasion. Refuses to give out his middle name and the story behind his nickname: "Chopper". Dislikes being addressed as Gabriel or Gabe. Is greatly interested, if not obsessed with Terran culture during the 21st and 20th Century, especially the music. Favors the musical genre "Rock and Roll" and has gone so far as to stuff his bunks and his owned surroundings with his collections. Keeps a journal and pen for writing and "dabbles" in poetry. Is literate in English and Afrikaans. Subject claims to be literate in Latin as well, but this is mostly thought to be a joke on his part, given he usually only says things from religious texts.

(KIA)   3Spc. Robert Jackson: "Good ole Robert. Trustworthy soul I tell you that much. He's got a sense of humor and he laughs at even the shittiest if my jokes, and it's genuine too. He keeps eyes on everyone, I know he cares. Not going to lie, Erhart's got competition for "Chopper's Favorite Medic Award". Don't tell them that though, I'd be heart-broken to think they'd start competing."
Update: "A man like him didn't deserve it. He was a pillar, but nobody knows it. In spirit and body, he helped us. He should of died a hero, or anywhere else. Not there. Not even for this. I'm going to miss him. I can only wonder if we can make it count. I for one, will try.

MSPC. Hecle Phan:"Phan? Yeah I know him. I remember just hanging out with him in the mess hall and bar, talking about whatever came to mind. He's a good guy, a really good one. He's something out of a fairy tale he is. A noble hearted soldier, who came from a humble life as a farmer to fight not for himself, but for all mankind. Honestly? I never gave a shit about Earth until I listened to him preach about how he was going to stay until it fully rose from the ashes. I didn't think to highly of it, until that moment. Now like some spell wrapped around my mind, it's my dream to see Earth rise to its former glory too. It'll never happen in my lifetime though. I want it to be a the crown jewel, the capital of The Federation once more. A fool's errand that I have him to thank for, but it's something I'm holding onto till the day I die. He's all grown up now. An engineer, one helluva cook, and probably the purest out of all of us. He gets smiles all around when he walks in, a real popular guy. He reminds me too much of my own brother, maybe that's why I feel like I gotta watch out for him. We don't talk as much as we used to, but I'm happy for him. Just one more thing: Tell him if he dies before the age of 80, surrounded by his loved ones and the legacy he's left on that little sleepy rock he came from, I'll kill the shit out of him."
Update: "Well slap me silly and call me by my middle name, Phan's getting engaged! Oh man oh man, dude straight up made a goddamn ring from bullet casings, hardcore and sweet as fuck. I'm pretty happy things for him have been doing so goddamn well recently, guy really deserves all that good karma. He's solid as always too, and he's climbing the ranks. I can't tell you how good it is to see someone like him get all of that going for him. He's one helluva guy, Noemi better not break his heart."

Lance Cpl. Sarah Redbrick:  "I owe a lot to Redbrick. Some say I push myself too hard too fast, but that sounds like a bloody excuse, not a valid reason for not getting the results we all want and people getting back safe and sound. She was really the one who managed to find that line and speak to me directly about this following Witt's death, where I just wanted my patches and leadership ripped out. She's a Corporal, but don't be fooled. She's a goddamn CO in sheep's clothes. Now, about her directly? She's pretty awesome. She kicks ass, gets people back safe, and the best of all, dramatic pause for effect......she's got a genuine goddamn sense of humor. Like. For real. Who doesn't want their valiant leader cracking wise cracks while you walk into the 9th circle of Hell? Like, Holtz is one of those stern disciplined old guys and that's respectable, but the guy has the social abilities of a plague rat, he could learn a thing or two from Redbrick.......hey.....you aren't going to...you know, tell Holtz about that....right? Right?"
Update: Call it piety, call it whatever you like. She told me to my face that she was disgusted that I and others spoke against Bently for what he said. No. Fucking. Shit. I had no quarrels with him about it, no nothing, until he said he "Assumed" Pallas, could deal with the fucking asteroid we tossed at them. We just killed God knows how many people and ruined so many others, if not the entire fucking planet, how the fuck is a person supposed to lock that shit away and "follow as instructed?" She told me to lock away my emotions, just fall in line. I am a goddamn soldier, no, human being. I am not some mindless drone controlled by a fat fucking slug. Said she'd gut any of us who did that shit again. I'm going to do my fucking goddamn best to push that shit behind me, but I make no promises. I thought I could trust her, but someone who thinks like that, is someone I simply can't.
Update: "I've had time to cool down and think. Things were said, and scars were formed on both our sides. She told me to keep my emotions in check as it caused my outburst, but on one of the drops, she risked everything for a kid. She got demoted cause of it. Maybe she's a hypocrite, or maybe I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, and say she's simple human as well. In my eyes, she's earned some redemption, but I'm working on just brushing it all away."

SSpc. Atichat Saiphan: "Now there's a lot of times where I feel like I need to "force" a joke or "chance" of conversation when talking to someone. It's just the way I am, I'm paranoid to the bitter core I hate to admit. Where does Saiphan come into this? I feel like I can say or joke about nearly anything when I'm talking to him. He's a kindred spirit I feel, like I feel I can really just say exactly what's on my mind and he'll get it. I trust him, that doesn't come easy. Only annoying thing is he's referring to me as Salesman. Like, really dude? I am at least on the same level as a door to door entrepreneur."

Cpl Mikhail Kuznetsov: "I have no bloody idea who that is mate, or do I? Like I said, my noggin gets as hit as many times as Linh flirts with Zaki in a single day."

Pvt. Flynn Taggart:"I haven't really spoken to him in a extended conversation. He's fine I guess, but lacks common sense from what I've seen. Also, what do they feed their boys and girls wherever this guy comes from? Man's at least 7ft, like good God."

3Spc. Grzegorz Brzeczyszczykiewicz:  Ok, who made this guy an Engineer? Like, damn I don't know what to say or where to start. Anyway, he's like a Polish Lennie Small, he's got a lot of heart, he's strong, and he likes pets. Hopefully, he doesn't end up like Lennie Small at the end Of Mice and Men, for all our sakes. So keep a watch on him, yeah? I hate to see him go."
Update: "Well, he beat the absolute shit out of me, broke my entire right hand, cracked two ribs, and caused so much internal bleeding, I'd be a mosquito's smoothie, but he found one of my favorite tapes of my rock and roll collection, so he's a friend in my book."

SSpc. Erhart Von Strattman: "Ah, the Crimson King, the Blood Angel, the Runt himself! How can I forget the guy that's saved my ass more times than the amount of fingers and toes on my hands and feet combined? At first, I thought he was a girl when he was removing shrapnel from my shoulder, but we had time to clear that up and get to chat. I count him as a guy I can trust, seeing as he's saved my ass so many times. At first I was ecstatic to hear he had a "Lady-Friend", a guy like him deserves that happiness, but it was replaced by worry. I don't want what happened with Zaki and Linh going down on him, I can't imagine it. For the time being, I like to crack jokes at him sometimes, hopefully light ones we can both laugh at. I'm just worried that his sister's going to knock my block off, she can be kinda "scary" sometimes.....not to mention she worships the Sun apparently AND is trained with a flamethrower. Heh, I suppose I just got to watch my words and keep it friendly. I think he's the Ying to his Sister's Yang, but when they're around each other, they bring out the best in each other."

(KIA) Rct. Johannes Mohawk: "Could someone, for the love of Christ, please tell me why she's always fucking stalking and chasing me? Like, goddamn please just space her. PLEASE. I haven't had a good sleep for the past three weeks! It doesn't help she's got man hands, Greg's strength, and a fucking weird ass face."
Update: "Verbecks is my fucking hero. Thank you. The nightmare ends. Tell her she can borrow any of the tapes and shit from my rock and roll collection."

3Spc Alessandro Noviello: "A medic that doesn't seem to hate me for managing to get injuries in the field. Seems to have a good sense of humor too. Definitely need to talk with him more."

LCpl Jeremy Hawkins: "He's a solid gent, but I haven't had the luxury of speaking with him closely. Don't get me wrong, guy's a great guy and a solid N.C.O., just have to talk to him more and get my analysis."

Cpl. Rodrick Oakwood: "He's a really good guy, and one hell of a N.C.O. I'd say. I might have beaten him to the punch for the Corporal patches, but I'd support the choice to make him Sergeant before me for sure. Can take and dish out jokes, and can switch to a cool headed serious boss man."

FLT Jennifer "Blaze" Helstr
om:"Oh, Helström? Yeah, I know Blaze, she's really something. I saw her a bit on the Grant, but ever so rarely, never really interacted much until the Zion. She was just visiting someone and Bosanac and I were on the couch, we made small talk and she told us all about the story, the one her Squadron is based off of. She was really chill, cool aviators, personality, and everything. It was on the Upham were we really got to interact. She asked us if she wanted to test out the simulator she was using to try and teach TAC pilots and rookies. I remembered a bit of those flight sims for the Navy training, until I switched to Mobile Infantry so I volunteered. It was incredible. The way she moved out there, it's like you're just a little newborn chick flying next to a eagle.  She made this little story for the flight sim and now I'm completely hooked, my blood's boiling just thinking about it. Needless to say, if you weren't that too involved in my little details, I'll just sum it up. I think she's pretty fantastic. She's nice, does her job, and most importantly has a sense of humor. She sure is something......hm? Oh uhhh I was just doing some laps in the hangar, blood must've rushed up to my face, surprised you didn't notice it earlier.......hey! What's with the look?! You haven't been listening to Phan or anything have you?!"

Pfc. James T. Victory: "Cocky son of a gun, isn't he? Well, I'm in the same boat with him on that regard. He's one of those "oh I'm just this on the outside, I'm much softer within" types. He seems sincere, watching his buddies and hearing em out anyway. He's a pretty damn fine shot too, and can dish out and handle a joke. All around decent guy..even if his cockiness gives him something I like to call: "Icarus Syndrome"."
