Rook
This is essentially a rough draft of the Federation's political outlook based on what I know of the Federation's social policy. The simulator wasn't ideal, as it didn't offer all the options the Federation possess (ie. Voting restricted to Veterans) But it was close. The GDP:Spending ratio is way out of the realm of stability, but the concept of GDP in an absolute government that governs the entirety of the Human race is obsolete anyway.. 1 Link to comment

Executive Administrator Deckers Posted September 22, 2017 Executive Administrator Report Share Posted September 22, 2017 He's butthurt that Germany is being taken over by Muslims. On that note, any further discussion in this committee that proves to not be helpful will result in warning points. Link to comment

And fines on casinos are based on illegal institutions. A legal and certified casino would have no issue. Link to comment

It's not totally accurate in itself. I'm no economist. The basic gist is: The Federal government participates highly in its economy. While there is private ownership, certain things such as FEDNET are government owned and funded. Science is heavily funded and encouraged. Military is pretty much the center of the entire Federation and the cost of maintaining such a massive army is only possible by the Federation's government. The cost of maintaining just the Fleet alone would be out of the ken of any or even every other human colony combined. Link to comment

Executive Administrator Deckers Posted September 23, 2017 Executive Administrator Report Share Posted September 23, 2017 Otherwise we can agree that the Federal Council is parliamentary style, with a Prime Councillor heading it. There's 244 seats to be had in the Federal Council. Link to comment

It's my understanding that the spending ratios are public vs. private funding. I.e... the Federation provides health care free of charge to every person, regardless of citizenship. However there are privately provided health care options for citizens and wealthy non-citizens. 50% equals how much the Federation provides as opposed to how much is private. Ultimately, like Deckers said, the finances aren't canon to the Federation. It is simply to the limit of what the simulator allowed. The Federation brings in a lot more than what is listed here. Executive Administrator Deckers Posted September 23, 2017 Executive Administrator Report Share Posted September 23, 2017 That's a negative. We're gonna have to back it up off of UK law and add anything that works with Federal law as we go. Link to comment

The UCF does discriminate along gender lines in certain areas though. Women are promoted much more frequently than men in the Fleet- by design. Federal studies prove that women are typically more dexterous and mathematically gifted than men. Thus women are given first choice of command before a man, unless he's really exceptional. 7 minutes ago, radical roach said: defamation should be decreased to only a fine-able offense as it is a civil issue I agree. 9 minutes ago, radical roach said: street prostitutes and escorts should be allowed with licenses, with brothels staying as they are set now. it doesn't make sense to me for sex workers who are doing so of their own free will to be prosecuted in a society described as "largely similar to the capitalist societies before the Disorders." most forward states as we know them now allow for sex workers The core book mentions nothing of prostitution, but considering that the moral decline of the pre-Federation world is one of the primary reasons why the Federation claims the old-world collapsed probably doesn't bode well for it as a practice. 31 minutes ago, radical roach said: local and online casinos should be allowed with license, as they come naturally with capitalist society and are great boons to economic growth. You have to be careful with pre-Federation laws. Not many of them survived. Many forms of narcotic simply died out during the disorders, along with their producers. There wasn't enough land to grow the food on, let alone a plot of land to grow weed. It may also be worth mentioning that various forms of sport no longer exist. For example; Golf, Soccer and horse racing are all examples of sports that died out and are no longer played in the Federation. Link to comment

Archer
there is all the info you need on the judicial system in the very same handbook provided. civil tribunals are used, with most if not all verdicts delivered by a tribunal of judges. most crimes are punished by public whipping, fines and jail time. public whipping is one of the most popular - which is why people shouldn't be like 'oh why this trooper is getting whipped SAVAGE', they literally see the same shit on the street since childhood as criminals get punished. death sentences exist, too. I dont think the federation cares what you do in your free time This is correct. The Federation does not discriminate in any fashion. Otherwise, it would be more selective with who is even allowed to take the Oath. Ultimately, the mindset of the Federation is that it prioritizes merit and excellence over gender studies. The Federation hates using studies as a barrier to entry (opening class sequence in SST1). The study explains why something may be the case (after the Federation was curious about X and financed the research). The study does not affect standards or other internal processes/examinations.
